FAQ
Is every3minutes really free?
Yes, completely free. No subscriptions, no premium tiers, no hidden costs. The app is supported by unobtrusive ads and will always remain free to use.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After your first visit, every3minutes works as a Progressive Web App (PWA) and runs entirely in your browser, even without internet. All timer functionality, settings, and alerts work offline. The only features that require a connection are loading new content and displaying ads.
How do I keep my screen on during treatments?
Tap the menu icon and enable 'Keep screen on'. This uses the Wake Lock API to prevent your screen from dimming during your beauty routine. This is especially useful for LED mask sessions where you want to glance at remaining time, or for sheet masks where the timer runs for 15-20 minutes.
Can I change the timer duration?
Yes. On mobile, scroll the wheel picker to set your preferred minutes and seconds. On desktop, use the + and - buttons or type a value directly. The default is 3 minutes, but you can set any duration from a few seconds up to 60 minutes. Your last-used duration is saved automatically.
What's loop mode?
Loop mode automatically restarts the timer when it reaches zero, creating continuous intervals. This is perfect for zone-based treatments like microcurrent (3 minutes per zone) or facial massage sequences where you move to a new technique at each beep. Turn it off for single-use timers like sheet masks or LED mask sessions.
Why isn't vibration working?
Vibration requires a compatible device and browser permissions. Some browsers disable vibration in power-saving mode or when the device is in silent mode. iOS Safari has limited vibration support. If vibration is not working, try enabling audio alerts as an alternative, or check that your device is not in Do Not Disturb mode.
Why isn't audio working?
Modern browsers require user interaction before playing audio for the first time. Make sure you tap the play button directly to start the timer. If audio still does not work, check that your device volume is up and that the browser tab is not muted. On iOS, make sure the silent mode switch on the side of your phone is off.
How do I install the app?
On iOS: Open every3minutes.com in Safari, tap the Share button (square with arrow), then select 'Add to Home Screen'. On Android: Tap the browser menu (three dots), then select 'Add to Home Screen' or 'Install app'. Once installed, the timer opens instantly from your home screen just like a native app.
Does every3minutes track my usage?
No. We do not use analytics or tracking. Your timer settings, preferences, and usage history are stored locally on your device only and are never sent to any server. We respect your privacy completely.
What devices are supported?
Any modern browser on desktop, tablet, or mobile. Tested and working on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. The timer is fully responsive and adapts to any screen size, from phones to large desktop monitors.
What timer setting should I use for LED masks?
Most LED masks recommend 10-20 minute sessions. Set the timer to your device's recommended duration (check the manual) and use single mode, not loop. Enable audio alerts since your eyes will be closed during treatment. See our detailed LED mask guide for wavelength-specific timing.
How do I time a microcurrent session?
Set the timer to 3 minutes and enable loop mode. Each time the timer beeps, move your microcurrent device to the next facial zone (forehead, eye area, cheeks, nasolabial folds, jawline, neck). A full session covers all zones in about 15-20 minutes. See our microcurrent guide for zone-by-zone details.
Can I use this for skincare wait times?
Absolutely. Many actives like retinol and chemical exfoliants need wait times between application steps. Set the timer to 20 minutes after applying retinol, or 15 minutes after AHA/BHA acids, to know exactly when to apply your next product. See our retinol wait times guide for a complete breakdown.
